Dear Friends,

We wanted to share a brief update regarding nightly lodging costs at Shalom Retreat Center.

Recently, we have started to communicate that our nightly rate would be increasing from $50–$60 per person per night. After further review and helpful feedback, we have been encouraged to take a more transparent approach by sharing the actual cost of operating the Shalom ministry, and to place the decision to cover that full cost in the hands of our guests.

The true cost to host guests at Shalom, when utilities, maintenance, staffing, and ongoing care of the property are considered, is approximately $90 per person per night.

We recognize that some groups appreciate knowing the real budget realities and may desire to support the ministry at this level when they are able.

At the same time, we remain committed to keeping Shalom accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay. Additionally, groups that can are welcome to continue reserving at the $60 per night rate, with the option to contribute toward the full cost if they feel led.

As we look ahead, we are prayerfully exploring ways to expand the Shalom ministry, including expanding our spaces for the ablilty of hosting two groups in a weekend, welcoming weekday retreats, and opening space for winter groups. We are grateful for your prayers as we seek to steward this place well and extend gospel hospitality to more and more guests.
